Activision, id Software et Raven Software viennent d'annoncer officiellement que le FPS était maintenant terminé et qu'il serait donc disponible, comme prévu, le 18 octobre prochain en Amérique du Nord. Basé sur le moteur de Doom 3 et reprenant l'histoire là où Quake 2 l'avait laissée, ce nouvel opus sortira trois jours plus tard (le 21 octobre) en France.
Visible, entre autres, sur le site officiel de Raven Software, l'annonce ne parle cependant que de la version PC. L'adaptation Xbox 360 n'étant pour sa part pas encore terminée.

Developed by Raven Software and executive produced by id Software, QUAKE 4 begins only moments after the events of QUAKE II, with the Earth's fleet launching a massive offensive to the planet Stroggos. As Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad, gamers invade the alien Stronghold, fighting alone, along side other Marines, and in mechanized walkers and hover tanks as they Encounter the Strogg and their disturbing amalgamations of man and machine.
